Saturday...

Saturday was a busy day as usual for us, but fun. Nick has been working such long hours lately that the girls haven't got to see him very much. They are usually still asleep when he leaves for work and the are already in bed asleep when he gets home from work. His squadron is preparing for a big inspection and check they are having next week. I was told once that is all over his schedule will go back to 'normal' (but I'll believe it when I see it). So anyway the girls have really been missing their dad so they made a big "Family Fun" list for them to do this weekend since it is a long weekend. They came up with it all by themselves. Here is their list:

1) play charades
2) go sailing (check)
3) swimming (we will get to check this one off later today after we go to the Prescotts house)
4) beach
5) BBQ (the Prescotts will also help us to cross this one off as well)
6) Padres baseball game
7) bike ride
8) hike
9) park
10) camping
11) watch Star Wars (check)

So today is the last day off before going back to school and work, so it looks like we still have a lot more FUN ahead of us today. On Saturday we were able to cross off sailing. Nick loves the water and his girls have inherited that from him. We brought our friends the Neders with us, and off we went. Everyone seemed to have a good time. Here are a few pictures.

Boys will be boys! Nick and Ryan couldn't resist jumping off the boat for a little swim. The water was just calling their names.
Due to past experiences we have learned that when you jump off it is best to jump from the front of the boat and then swim to the back and catch the rope while the boat pulls you along. Otherwise you run the risk of the wind suddenly picking up and the boat takes off with out you. So this is what Nick and Ryan did.

Courtney was about a year old when we got the boat so the girls have grown up on the boat and they love it there. They know the rules and what is allowed and not allowed to keep you safe. Nick has always told them you need to have at least 3 points of contact (body parts) touching the boat at all times. In this picture Kaylee chose two hands and a butt as her 3 points of contact. (just for the record, she was only sitting like this long enough for the picture)

After sailing was over we went home to get cleaned up real quick and then off to the Bonita ward to go to their YM/YW Luau fundraiser. Nick had duty so it was just the girls and I (and some of our friends). The girls had a blast. It has only been about two or three years since we have been in that ward so the girls still have a lot of friends there that they like going back to see. The Bonita ward really goes all out when they put on their Luaus. They had to do it outside because their were over 500 people there and they couldn't everyone in the church. So they built a big stage outside and had everything decorated really nice. They made mu pig (they have a pit dug out at the back of the building where they cook the pork under ground) it was very yummy. Their YM/YW had been working on learning some Polynesian dances during their weekly activities, so they preformed those as the pre-show. Then they had a professional dance group come in and put on a really fun show. They were able to raise a lot of money for camp and everyone had a really fun time (other than it getting pretty cold being outside). I didn't take very many pictures while I was there, but here is a look at the few that I did take.

Here is my little Hula Baby, isn't she so cute! She kept running up on the stage because she wanted to dance too.

There was a little girl there who had brought a little kid table to sit at. Eva and Brooklyn thought this was a great idea and decided to join her.

As you can see we had a really fun day. Can't wait to see what today has in store for us.
