Cabo San Lucas - Day 1... 4/13/2011

Our first port visit while on the cruise was to Cabo San Lucas Mexico. We didn't have anything planned for this port visit so we decided to just stick with our new friends (one of them could speak Spanish for us which made it much easier) and see what we could find to do. Since our ship was so big they did not have a doc that would hold a ship that size so we had to take small boats from the ship to the pier. We decided we wanted to be on that first tender boat over to the pier so we could utilize all of our time in port. The extra benefit to this that we hadn't planned on is that we were able to watch the sun rise as we headed to the pier. It was really pretty.

We all decided we wanted to go rent jet skies, so we had to get on a water taxi to take us to the beach where we would be spending the day. It was so crazy to me the way they had all their water taxis parked. They literally just tie them up to anything they can, so when we got on our boat we were surrounded by all these other boats.

But rather than untie all the boats and move them out of the way our driver decided to plow right thru them to move them out of his way. It worked I guess because we eventually made it out... and it was pretty funny to watch.

Here is Nick, me and Angela... I have no idea what I was laughing at, but I apparently thought it was pretty funny. :)

Every time I would start to get off the water taxi a wave would come up and take it out a little bit, I finally ended up just jumping on Nick (almost knocking him over) to get off the boat.

Since we were the first ones off the ship, we were also the first ones on the beach which was awesome! We had the whole beach to our selves. Since we had a little time before the jet ski place opened we decide to go to this little restaurant for breakfast. It was right on the beach (literally, our feet were in the sand) and the food was amazing. After breakfast we just walked along the beach and waited for the jet skies to arrive. When they got there we drove all over that bay, it was so much fun. Nick let me drive most of the time, and although I wasn't going as fast as he was when he was driving, it was still fun. There were some sea lions that were swimming around us as we were driving around. It was so cool to watch them.

After we were done with the jet skies, we just hung out on the beach most of the day. We swam around in the water, which was so nice and warm, and Nick found this little star fish that he stuck on my shoulder. It was the weirdest feeling because the little thing sucked to my shoulder and just started sucking on me, it was weird. It was fun playing around in the water though. Then we walked over to Senor Frogs to get a little snack before heading back to the ship. We sat there and watched the street performers for while which was really interesting. Then it was back to the ship. It was so fun!
