Cabo San Lucas - Day 2... 4/15/2011
Our third port visit was supposed to be in Mazatlan but with all the violence that has been going on there lately the ship decided it would be a better idea to go back to Cabo San Lucas. I was totally fine with this decision because the last time Nick and I had gone to Mazatlan I got really bad food poisoning so I wasn't really looking forward to going back anyway. Since we had already been to Cabo a couple days before we knew a little bit of what to expect. We decided that we wanted to try going parasailing. We didn't have our Spanish speaking friend with us this time but luckily when we got off the pier we ran into the same guy that had helped us with our jet ski tour before, since he remembered us he was able to give us a a good deal. He took us back to the beach we had gone to before to wait for our water taxi to take us parasailing. We got there early so we had time to just hang out on the beach again.
Our cruise ship was so much bigger than the other cruise ships that were in port.
The water taxi came and picked us up and we waited in the bay for the parasailing boat to get there.

While we waited the taxi driver asked if we wanted to see some fish. You can definitely tell that we were in Mexico because he took a tortilla out of his lunch box and started ripping it into a bunch of little pieces and then threw them over the side of the boat into the water. A couple of seconds later there were tons of fish all around us eating the tortillas. It was pretty cool.
Then the parasailing boat got there and we switched over to that boat where they got us all strapped into our gear. I was starting to get a little nervous.
Nick on the other hand was as happy as can be.
This was so far out of my comfort zone, so I was pretty scared. (in case you can't tell from my face in the picture) Nick is used to hanging out of helicopters all the time so this was a piece of cake for him.
You can't really tell how high up were are from this picture, but we were on a 600 foot rope into the sky. We were higher than any other parasailers that were out in the bay that day, and we were sailing way above all the buildings that were around us. Seriously, so scary!
Thankfully we made it back safely and our water taxi came back to pick us up. We had him take us over to a place called Lovers Beach where we were supposed to meet up with some of our friends. Usually the water is very high up on that arch you see in the picture below (you can see where the water mark usually is) so you can only pass thru there by kayak. Once every four years the water goes out for about a week so you can see the sand... we came on a good week.
