Camping

We went camping this weekend with our friends Ryan and Gina up at Camp Pendleton. I was a little reluctant at first since it was supposed to rain all weekend with a chance of thunder storms. (Actually I was very reluctant and tried to cancel the trip) But Nick talked me into just going up there to check it out with the promise that if the weather was too bad we would come home right away. It ended up being fine. We had a little bit of sprinkles when we first got there, but other than that it was fine. We had a really good time. Our camp site was right next to the lake. That is where Kaylee discovered her new love of fishing. She wanted to do that all day. The first night we were there there was a little confusion as to who was supposed to make dinner, so all of the chicken was frozen. It was after 7:00 by the time we were all set up and everyone was really hungry. So what do you do when you are out camping and all your food is frozen? Simple solution, you order pizza. We called and found a pizza place that would deliver to the camp site. It was fabulous! On Saturday we took a hike around the lake. It was a 3 mile hike and Courtney was tired of walking about 5 minutes into it. That made for a pleasant hike. Luckily we found a playground about halfway threw the hike, so that was a nice break. All in all it was a really good time and I am glad we decided to go. The girls are already asking when we get to go again.

Kaylee really loved fishing. She didn't catch any fish this time, but she said she is going to practice and she will catch some next time.
