Ventura...

Nick was gone this past weekend camping with the scouts, so rather than spend another weekend at home alone with the kids, I decided to go to Ventura and visit my sister. We started our journey on Friday after I picked the kids up from school. We inevitably hit LA traffic so it took quite a while to get there, but the girls were really good and patient. We had a good time up there. My mom went with us and my brother and his girlfriend came down to have dinner with us one night, so it was like a little mini family reunion. The drive home went much smoother and faster.


The girls were very happy to see Oscar (he used to be our dog before we gave him back to my sister) but nobody was as excited as Brooklyn. She be right next to him the whole time. He on the other hand was not so excited about that.
On Saturday we drove down to Thousand Oaks and went to 'The Gardens of The World". It was pretty cool. The girls loved walking around all the different gardens.

They had a giant chess game there that the girls had a lot of fun playing around with.

After the garden we went back to my sisters apartment because the girls wanted to go swimming. The water was pretty cold, but that didn't stop them.

Yesterday we went to a park before we started our drive home. It was a pretty cool park. It was right on the ocean and they had this old looking pirate ship that had a zip line attached to it. Kaylee thought it was the coolest thing. She had a blast with it.
