Today Brooklyn was invited to go to preschool with her friend Sydney. She was so excited to get to go to school, but she was even more excited when I told her she go to wear her Mini Mouse costume because they would be celebrating Halloween there. They started the morning with decorating trick-or-treat bags.
Then the teacher read a story to the class. "The Little Old Lady Who Swallowed A Bat"
After story time it was time to go around
thru the office and a couple of class rooms to go trick-or-treating. The preschool is connected to a high school, and all the high
schoolers seemed very entertained to see all the little kids
dressed up.
After trick-or-treating we went back to the class room to do different learning centers. Brooklyn started with the shaving cream station. She wasn't so sure about squishing all of that stuff between her fingers.
Then she went over to the
pumpkin stations where she got to hammer pegs into a pumpkin.
At the counting center they had all these little pumpkins that had numbers written on the bottom. The kids had to count little erasers that
corresponded with the number on the bottom of the pumpkin.
Then she went over and made a wind sock. Her favorite part was getting to use glue.
I had her save the cookie center for last because I knew she wouldn't want to do anything else after she saw this one. She loved getting to decorate her very own cookie.
But more importantly she loved EATING it!!
The teacher has a lot of little pets in the class room and at one point she brought her lizard out for the kids to pet and hold. Brooklyn thought it was so cool when the teacher put the lizard on her shirt.
After all that fun she worked up quite an
appetite so they sat down for lunch.
She had such a good time there that she couldn't wait to tell her sisters about her "new school". I tried to break the news to her that she doesn't get to go there every day, but I'm not sure if she believed me. :)
