Which makes it even more fun is that we have a bunch of friends who love to go camping as well. So one day when we were all sitting around and some mentioned "We should all go camping together" it didn't take long for the ball to get rolling. We ended up going to Lake O'Neill camp ground on Camp Pendleton. (Marine base) It had been a couple of years since we had camped there, but it is such a nice camp ground that I think we won't wait so long before camping there next time.
There ended up being four families, The Herdsmans, The Neders, The Ludlows, and us. We had so much fun. It was just nice to get away from everything for a while and just relax. Our camp sites were right be the doc so the kids spent a lot of time fishing in the lake.

The only one won who caught a fish that day was Eva. She was so excited with her catch. It was also nice because all the rest of the kids were just as excited for her as she was (no jealousy) so they all rushed over to see the fish.

Seriously how cute are these three!! They have all been best friends since they were babies so it is so fun watching them grow up together.
Right across from our camp site was a really nice playground so we had to take the kids over to check it out.
Then we went to the other side of the lake to try our hand (or feet I should say) at paddle boats. It was so cheap ($5 per boat) that we just couldn't resist. It was so nice to be out on the water.
When it was time to leave and head home the guys thought it would be fun "for the kids" to go check out the tank that they have on display outside of the museum. They loved being able to climb up on them and pretend to drive. I think there were like six or so of them and of course we had to try them all out.
Definitely a good trip with good friends. I can't wait until the next one!
