Disney Land day 2...5/16/2011

Our second day at Disney Land started off very rainy, but instead of waisting the day away decided to just bundle up and head out anyway. Luckily I keep umbrellas in my car (even though they are hardly ever used in San Diego) and we were able to buy some cheap ponchos to help keep our clothes dry.

Brooklyn loved being out in the rain. She thought it was so funny to let it fall on her head.

We decided to head straight over to the star trooper place since there is covered seating there and we would be able to stay dry while watching the show. But since it was still raining and their stage isn't covered they couldn't do the show, but they did bring out some of the characters to take pictures with.

Nick insisted on getting an alone picture with Darth Vader. :)

The rain started to lighten a little so we went over to Autotopia so the kids could drive the race cars. They ended up being harder to drive than I thought they would be. I was a car with Brooklyn so I pushed the gas while she steered. She kept crashing which would make our car stall and it was sometimes hard to get it started again. My leg was a little sore by the end from having to push that peddle so hard.

Around lunch time the rain seemed to clear all up so we went back to watch the Star Wars show while we ate our lunch. Kaylee got chosen to go up to participate in the show. She was excited to go thru her "Jedi training". She did a really good job and it made the show that much more fun to watch.

After lunch we took the kids over to Tom Sawyer Island to do a little exploring. This was Nick's favorite thing to do at Disney Land when he was a little boy. All the times we had been to Disney Land we have never taken our girls over to the island because I thought it sounded boring and that the girls wouldn't really like it. Boy was I wrong, they had a blast!

There are so many caves to explore over there and things to climb on, so it kept the kids busy for quite a long time. I'm sure it will be on my kids "must do" list every time we go to Disney Land now. :)

They were even able to find the "hidden" treasure before we left the island.

We had to leave early this day because we had dinner plans someplace else, but we let the kids pose for one more picture before we left.

Even though the day started out cold and rainy it ended up being a nice day and everyone had a really good time.
